Hi, I’m Jack’s mom aka Amanda!

how this blog came to be

It started the night before my 30th birthday. As you can imagine, I was feeling all the feels and it registered that it was probably time to start doing a lot more. I wrote this blog post that night. That’s all my blog consisted of for 17 months before I decided to really make something of that blog I started… in my 20s! Whoa!

I guess I didn’t know what I wanted to write about. I mean, it just started with an emotional rant about leaving my 20s behind. It took a solid year of being a 30-something to regroup apparently, but now I’m ready to begin. Again.

This sounds lame, but this was my realization — I was skipping face washes before bed. I went on a workout hiatus. I ate anything and everything I wanted. Plain and simple, I wasn’t being me or who I aspire to be.

So, this is my way of being held accountable.

You’ll probably find some off the wall thoughts scattered throughout this blog, along with some not-so-healthy, but very yummy comfort food recipes that happen to make me happy. Speaking of happy, my furbabies are the light of my life and I can’t imagine not including them and all their cuteness here. I’ll probably need to vent about my fad workout and trendy new purchase, too. Who knows?

how my blog has transitioned (2017)

Previously my blog was titled loo le la and served as a place to divulge my pregnancy journey and a coping outlet in dealing with the loss of my grandfather. At times I used it to vent. Plain and simple, writing brings peace and clarity to my mind and sometimes that’s all I need.

If you’ve read up until this point, you know I’ve kind of been all over the place. Truth is, I’ve struggled to find my niche. I wasn’t sure who I wanted to read my blog. In fact, that wasn’t even much of a thought. I was writing for myself and blogging to rid stress. Plus, I love scrapbooking but #aintnobodygottimeforthat so blogging serves as an online journal that I can always go back and read.

I wrote this as part of the transition description while I was still pregnant:

I’m sure as I transition from pregnant Amanda to mom, this platform will serve as the perfect space to vent and share stories of that chapter as well. I know I’ve found comfort and laughter in reading other mommy blogs, so I’m excited to become one myself!

So here we are — and I think I’ve finally found my niche!

I renamed the blog I’m Jack’s Mom (2018)
